Presidential Welcome
I welcome you on the website of Studium–Prospero Foundation!
In November 1998 during a discussion with former presidents of the Students Union and our friends, we defined our intentions and aims: continuing our activities for increasing the quality of Hungarian higher education in Târgu Mureș, the development and implementation of educational concepts. After this discussion, we started the work. Many of you knew our goals and supported us to achieve our objectives.
In autumn, 1999 the Board of Trustees was constituted by inviting members and taking into consideration that each professional organisation should be represented. The Board of Trustees is composed of: the president of the Hungarian Students’ Association in Târgu Mureș, the Medical and Pharmacologycal Department of the Transylvanian Museum Society, the representatives of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Târgu Mureș and of the University of Arts Târgu Mureș, the supporters of Studium Foundation, the representative of the Transylvanian Junior Doctors Association and one member on behalf of the traditional churches.
In 2015 Studium Foundation, which had functioned as the background institution of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Târgu Mureș, united with Prospero Foundation, the background institution of University of Arts Târgu Mureș.
Our mission is the furtherhance of the Hungarian state higher education in Târgu Mureș, as well as the implementation and management of the system of background institutions of Hungarian state universities.
We aim with all these different activities to give hope for the early-stage doctors and persuade them to not to leave the country, to study and work at home. We would like to create favourable possibilities for development and improvement, so as they could acquire competitive knowledge at home, as well. This is why since 2003 Studium Medical Library has been functioning; we have provided accommodation for university assistants, lecturers and junior doctors in the Teachers’ Hostel; we have been publishing Hungarian medical books of high quality, 50 books in total during the last 20 years; we offer housing allowance for doctors and artists in 9 towns, in our 18 properties.
We support and we are supported. I would like to thank all our supporters and all our dedicated colleagues.
I would like to encourage every enquirer to gain personal experience as participant at the programs organised by us or as applicant of the opportunities, we create.
